Godalming United Church
Children and young people are always welcome at Godalming United Church. Although children are not expected to be silent in the church, adults with very young children may prefer to use a well-equipped children’s area in a room at the back of the church at any time during the service, where it is possible to see into the church and hear the service through a sound system. Bags of toys are also available for children to use in the church.
The Minister ensures that children are involved in the first part of the service. Then, from the age of three, children and young people go to activities in Weysiders after the first part of the service. They are split into age groups and follow appropriate material with activities led by experienced adults. There are also regular All-Age services where children remain in the church and participate.
Toddlers Group meets weekly for parents / carers with babies and toddlers.
Rainbows (girls aged 5-7), Brownies (girls aged 7-10) and Scouts (boys aged 10 -14) are uniformed organisations which meet weekly on the Church premises and take part in Parade Services. See the contact list in the Welcome Pack for leaders details.
The church supports the Trinity Trust Team, a Godalming based team of Christian youth workers.
GUC has an agreed safeguarding policy. There are safeguarding officers who can be contacted for more information.
